Bulk Beef -- The Best Buy

Our grass fed beef is sold quarter, split-half, or whole. In order to meet the terms of state regulation the sale is actually the live animal. We will then have the animal shipped to a licensed proccesing plant. The weight that you pay for is based on "hanging weight"

If you choose to buy a whole beef it will be cut and packaged according to your specific instructions. We require this so that you will get the right serving sizes for your family, and that your favorite kinds of meat are included in your order.

Our  prices for 2011 are:

Quarter Beef: $3.09 per Lb

Split-Half Beef: $2.99 per Lb

Whole Beef $2.89 per Lb

you will be responsible for proccesing charges on top of the price per pound.

If you think that a whole beef or a split-half beef are too big for you, then we also sell quarter beef as another option. Unfortunately the front quarter of the beef has different cuts than the back quarter, so purchasing a quarter does not neccessarily give you the cuts you would expect. If you order a split-half we will include one quarter from the front of the beef and one from the back of the beef, to insure you get a full selection.

We often get the question of how much storage space is needed for your beef. Usually, a quarter of beef will us up about four cubic feet of your freezers storage space. and a split-half of beef will take up about eight cubic feet.

The amount of meat you will recieve depends on the size of the animal, and therefore cannot be specifically measured before proccesing. Usually the "hanging weight" of the beef is about 60% of the weight of the live animal. From there you can expect to get about 70% of the hanging weight in the package. This is due to trim loss, bones, etc. We have a chart below that shows what you can expect from a typical 1,100 pound live weight animal. Please keep in mind that this is only an estimate, as each animal weighs differently.
